The current Historical Committee of the KHS Alumni Association held its
first meeting in February, 1998.  We started by taking an inventory of
existing materials in the KHS library, the district office, and the
guidance department.  We had several old 16 mm films transferred to
videos and copied articles and photos from old scrapbooks in the
library.  One of our goals is to continue to provide a source of
historical information about KHS by administering a historical data base
and artifacts file.  We would greatly appreciate having donations from
alumni or other sources to aid in this quest.  The original items can be
copied and returned, if so desired.

Using items collected in our archives, we have helped with many
exhibits.  These have been used at class reunions, alumni meetings, fund
raising activities, the dedication of the new middle school, and other
		functions.

Our committee is also very proud of the many oral interviews we have
done of those associated with the Kennett schools.  These interviews
include former teachers, students, administrators, secretaries, and
others.  To date we have more than 50 interviews transcribed and
		included in our archives.

The Historical Committee meets every 2 months throughout the year and as
needed to make up new displays and access materials.  If you or anyone
you know has been a KHS "collector" and has items to share, please
contact one of our members - Myrna Fridy, Walt and Eleanor Paynter, and
		Jo Mason.
