Scott Woods, 34, of Longs, South Carolina (formerly of Kennett Square, PA), passed away tragically Monday, July 8th, 2013, while trying to rescue a teen from the ocean tides in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Scott grew up in Kennett Square and graduated from Kennett High School.  He was an active participant in the youth group at the First Baptist Church in Kennett Square during high school.  He was gifted at carpentry and found a career passion in hardscaping, creating spaces of beauty for people to enjoy the outdoors.  He took great care in his work and was always willing to help someone in need.

Scott was a loving son, husband and father.  He is survived by his mother, Peg Woods; his wife, Shannon Woods; his daughter, Kayla Simpson Woods; his stepdaughter, Ivy Anderson; and his son, Aiden Woods.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Caroline Woods.  He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13th at 11 a.m. in the prayer garden Scott helped create at the Christian Church, 1226 Burcale Road, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
