Louis Ralph Ferranto, 50, of Avondale, died on March 31 at the Southern Chester County Medical Center. He was the husband of Phyllis Jean Hearn Ferranto.
Born in West Chester, he was a son of Anna Rita Macellaro Ferranto of Kennett Square and the late Pietro Andrew Ferranto.
Mr. Ferranto was a 1964 graduate of Kennett High School.
He was a hair stylist for 31 years and for the past 21 years, owned and operated Beauty Villa West in Wilmington.
He loved the outdoors, especially hiking in the mountains and horseback riding.
Mr. Ferranto enjoyed music and played the saxophone and piano.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Dawn Ferranto of Wilmington;
one brother, Robert of Avondale;
two sisters, Loretta Battaglia of Landenberg and Frances Ferranto of Kennett Square;
and one granddaughter, Brianna Nicole Ferranto of Wilmington.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, April 4 at St. Patrick's Church, Kennett Square, with interment in the church cemetery.
